Home Made Avocado Salsa Recipe

You will find that this avocado salsa recipe is perfect for topping most any Mexican dish.

I usually make up a double batch, and freeze half for next time we need a quick dip or are in the mood for fish tacos.

This salsa recipe isn't too spicy, you can add more chopped peppers if you like it hotter. Or even add a dash or two of hot sauce... depending on your own taste.


This avocado salsa recipe make the creamiest salsa, similar to a rich guacamole recipe. This salsa recipe differs from a traditional guacamole recipe as it does not have any chopped tomatoes or cilantro.

I do add some cilantro on occasion, I think the cilantro adds a nice zip to the overall taste and lends a texture to the creamy avocado.

 Avocado and Red Onion Salsa
 
 
1   ripe Haas avocado, coarsely chopped  
1 Tbs    finely diced red onion  
1 Tbs    minced jalapeno  
2 Tbs    fresh lime juice  
  Salt to taste  
  Freshly ground pepper to taste  
 
1 Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl.
2 Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper.
 
Servings: 4
Yield: About 1 cup
