Herbed Bagel Chips


herbed bagel chips are fun to snack on anytime!

It's easy to make these bagel chips in either a conventional oven or a toaster oven.

I keep mini bagels in the freezer for when the need to make a quick dip cracker or a fun snack that's easy to "take along" with you.

Simply slice the bagels into thin, about 1/4" - 1/18" slices, like slicing a banana. You want to have potato chip like slices.

It's easy to change up the flavor by simply using different spices. One good alternative is to use both basil and oregano along with the garlic powder for an Italian flavor.



 Herbed Bagel Chips
 

 
9   (1-ounce) frozen mini-bagels, thawed  
  butter-flavored vegetable cooking spray  
1/2 tsp    Italian seasoning  
1/4 tsp    onion powder  
1/4 tsp    garlic powder  
1/8 tsp    ground red pepper  
 
1 Cut each bagel crosswise into 4 slices. Place slices, cut sides up, in a single layer on a baking sheet.
2 Lightly coat tops with cooking spray. Combine Italian seasoning and next 3 ingredients; sprinkle evenly over bagels.
3 Bake at 375 degrees F for 12 minutes or until crisp.
 
Servings: 18
Yield: 3 dozen chips
