Easy Beef Recipes

"The unbelievably flavorful easy beef recipes and tips on this site are
such a great INSPIRATION for 'regular' folks like myself!"

Beef is the most popular meat to fix. Naturally low in sodium, beef is a natural addition to most any low sodium diet.

Whether you need a quick beef roast recipe, or looking for an easy ground beef recipe, the following recipes are delicious and easy on the cook.

If you can avoid purchasing pre-packaged meats, your finished beef meal will have a better flavor. Many times pre-packaged beef contains inferior cuts. It is much better to hand select your beef.

Beef that is packaged in cellophane wrappers tend to loose it's juice and flavor as the packages sit in the case. Use your meat within 3 days of purchase.

In many of these recipes, the main ingredient is interchangeable, which in itself should be a good way to explore in your kitchen, and become familiar with several different cuts of beef used in various recipes.

When in doubt, choose the better cut of meat, unless the recipe calls for a marinade. The simple act of marinading a cut of meat will tenderize it somewhat.

The use of herbs and sometimes wines will bring out the hidden flavors of many cuts, and these should be used lavishly.

How Much Beef Should Your Buy?

Typically you should allow 1/4 lb of boneless beef per serving. This is a small serving, but depending upon how many other ingredients are in your selected recipe and how many other dishes you plan to serve, you can adjust this accordingly.

About a third of a pound of boneless beef would be considered a medium serving, and certainly a half a pound is more generous. Go with the lager serving amounts if you plan on leftovers.

Cooking Times for Roasts

When using a meat thermometer, remove the roast when it reaches 120℉, if you enjoy your beef rare. Then let is t stand undisturbed for 15 minutes before carving it.

It will continue to cook a bit as it cools down. And the juices will settle in adding flavor to your recipe.

If you like your finished beef medium rare, remove it from your oven when the thermometer reaches 130℉, 140℉ for medium, 150℉ for well done roast beef.

If you do not have a meat thermometer, this simple chart will help determine the best cooking times at 325℉ oven:

Rare Beef16 to 18 minutes per pound
Medium Rare 20 to 22 minutes per pound
Medium 24 to 26 minutes per pound
Well Done30 minutes per pound
