Chili Con Frijoles (chili with beans)




So many ways to serve chili con frijoles, it is an easy to make dish, and limited only by your imagination.

Top a bowl of lettuce off with chili with beans, warm, to bring a new taste sensation to taco salad.

Roll it into flour tortillas and top with shredded cheese for a delightful burrito.

Add a scoop of this chili con frijoles to an avocado half....

Chili With Beans

 Chili With Beans
 
 
2 lbs    ground beef  
1   onion, chopped  
1 tsp    salt  
1/2 tsp    ground black pepper  
1 Tbs    chili powder  
1/2 tsp    cumin seed  
1   16 oz can tomato sauce  
1   28 oz can tomatoes, undrained  
2   15oz cans kidney or pinto beans  
 
1 Cook meat and onion until browned and crumbly. Drain off excess fat.
2 Add seasonings, tomato sauce and tomatoes (cut tomatoes into bite-sized pieces if too large).
3 Simmer over low heat for 3 hours. Add beans and continue to cook for 45 minutes longer.
