Chocolate Cherry Glazed Brownies

"These Chocolate Cherry Glazed Brownies were so EASY to make!"



Choc Cherry Brownies

Chocolate Cherry Brownies
If fresh cherries are not available, use a 16 oz can of pitted sweet cherries, drained.
1 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup evaporated skim milk
2 egg whites
1 egg
2 Tbs light corn syrup
1 Tbs orange juice
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup fresh cherries
for the glaze:
1 Tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 Tbs orange juice
1/4 tsp vanilla
For the Brownies:
1 Preheat oven to 350* Spray a 9x9x2 glass pan with cooking spray. Reserve.
2 Combine the flour, sugars and cocoa powder in a large bowl. Melt the better and add to the mixture. Beat in the milk, egg whites, the whole egg, juice and vanilla. Mix well.
3 Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the cherries on top.
4 Bake for 40 minutes, until tested with a toothpick, it comes out clean.
For the Glaze:
1 While the brownies bake, mix the glaze. Combine all the glaze ingredients in a small bowl until very smooth.
Finishing:
1 When the brownies are done, remove from the oven and drizzle with the prepared glaze. Cut into bars.
