Moist and Chewy Cookies


Chocolate Chews

 Chewy Chocolate Cookies
 
 
1 1/4 cups    semi-sweet chocolate pieces  
1/4 cup    butter  
1 cup    brown sugar  
1   egg  
2   egg whites  
2 Tbs    light corn syrup  
1 tsp    vanilla  
1 Tbs    water  
1 3/4 cups    flour  
3/4 cup    powdered sugar  
1/3 cup    unsweetened cocoa powder  
2 tsp    baking powder  
1/2 tsp    cinnamon  
1/4 tsp    salt  
 
1 Preheat oven to 350*
2 Heat the semi-sweet chocolate pieces with the butter in a small saucepan until the chocolate begins to melt. Remove from heat. Cool for 10 minutes.
3 Stir in the brown sugar, whole egg, egg whites, corn syrup water and vanilla.
4 In a large bowl, mix together the flour, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
5 Add the chocolate mixture to the flour mixture and stir until well blended.
6 Drop by tablespoons, 2" apart (they will spread) onto lightly greased cookie sheets.
7 Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes.
