Tastiest Cornbread Recipe

With just a few ingredients you can have fresh, hot cornbread on your table in no time at all.

A quick bread recipe like this won't fill you up the heavy way regular dinner rolls can.

Mix and fix this cornbread recipe without without adding corn kernels to the batter. Some of us like the added texture this last step can bring.

I have added a half cup of diced jalapenos to this mix when the menu plan is south western or easy Easy Mexican recipes with fabulous results.

Quick Bread Recipe - Cornbread

 Cornbread
 
 
2   eggs  
1 cup    buttermilk  
1/4 cup    vegetable oil  
1/4 tsp    salt  
1/4 cup    brown sugar  
4 tsp    Feather weight baking powder  
1 cup    cornmeal  
1 cup    flour  
1/2 cup    frozen corn kernels (optional)  
 
1 Preheat your oven to 400*
2 Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix together all the wet ingredients. Combine the two until just moistened.
3 Spray a 9" square baking pan with non-stick spray. Pour the batter into the dish.
4 Bake for 20-25 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean and it should be well browned.
