Easy crockpot chicken recipes like this one can be on the table when you are ready to dine. This whole chicken crockpot recipe is so tender, it nearly falls off the bones.

Whole chicken crockpot recipes save time and money because whole chickens are usually a better buy than cut up poultry.

With a simple crockpot recipe like this, all you need to add is a side of steamed vegetables for a complete meal.

Crockpot Chicken Recipe

Sweet and Sour Chicken Recipe

1 3-4lb whole chicken
2 TB soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup pineapple juice
1 tbs ketchup
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 green onions, trimmed and sliced
1 clove garlic, pressed
2 tbs cornstarch
1 tbs water
2 tbs sesame seeds
1 After throughly washing your chicken, place breast side up in the crockpot.
2 Combine the soy sauce, sugar, water, juice, ketchup, red pepper flakes, onions and garlic in a mixing bowl. Stir to combine. Pour this over the chicken in the crockpot.
3 Cover and cook on HIGH for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours, depending on the size of your chicken.
4 Transfer the chicken to a platter.
5 Combine the cornstarch with the 1 Tbs water, stir until smooth. Stir this into the sauce in the crockpot. Cook on HIGH in the crockpot, or transfer to the stovetop in a pan, and cook STIRRING constantly, until thickened. Spoon the sauce over the chicken. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds and serve.
