How I avoid salt when I eat at restaurants

by Rebecca
(Culver City, Ca)

I find it a real challenge when dining out to keep the sodium levels at a"reasonable" level. But, sometimes, it just can't be avoided.

I stay away from any gravies and most sauces.

Usually I will order a salad, with oil and balsamic vinegar on the side.

If I am burned out on salads, sometimes a basic grilled dinner, like chicken or fish fills the bill (as well as the tummy!)

And I always ask that no salt be added to my food. You would be surprised at how common this is with restaurants.
