Italian Grilled Cheese Recipe


This Italian Grilled Cheese Recipe is not a true low sodium recipe, but as it is one of our favorite easy vegetarian recipes, I did want to include it on this site.

This scumptious grilled sandwich will take your appreciation of regular grilled cheese to a new level.

Easy to make and even more FUN to eat! A truly yummy sandwich that your friends and family will come to ask for again and again.

Pair this sandwich recipe with a warm bowl of roasted red pepper soup for a healthy, nutritious meal anytime.
I'm certain that this grilled cheese recipe will soon become one of your favorite recipe selections as well.
Italian Grilled Cheese

 Italian Grilled Cheese
 
 
4 slices    Italian Bread, 1" thick slices  
4 oz    mozzarella cheese, sliced  
3   eggs  
1/2 cup    milk  
3/4 tsp    Italian seasoning  
1/8 tsp    garlic powder  
1 cup    Italian breadcrumbs  
 
1 Cut a 3" pocket in each slice of bread. Place 1/4 of the cheese in each bread pocket.
2 Preheat a griddle to 325*. (or panini press to medium)
3 In a bowl, beat the eggs, milk seasoning and garlic powder.
4 Soak the bread for 2 minutes on each side in the egg mixture.
5 Coat each sandwich with the breadcrumbs.
6 Cook sandwiches on the preheated griddle (or press) until golden. About 2 minutes per side on the griddle, or 2.5 minutes total on the panini press.
