Italian Bread Machine Recipe


Italian bread machine recipe

 Peasant Bread, Italian Style
 
 
2 1/4 tbs    dry yeast  
1 cup    water  
3 cups    bread flour  
1/2 tsp    salt  
 
1 Add all to your bread machine, and follow directions for regular loaf.
2 OR
3 If a more "rustic" crust is desired, place all ingredients into your bread machine and select the dough cycle.
4 When cycle is done, punch down dough and shape into a loaf pan. Let rise for 1 1/2 hours in a warn, non-drafty place, covered with a clean dish towel.
5 Preheat oven to 450*
6 Place a pan of hot water on the bottom of your oven, this will steam while the loaf bakes, this will assure you will have a great crust.
7 Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes, until it is nicely browned and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped. Cool on a rack.
