Everyone who knows me knows that my passion for really great tasting food cannot be compromised. When I was put to the challenge a of sodium-free lifestyle, there was determination not eat "flat tasting" meals. The quest for low salt recipes was vast.

Unlike other restricted (I hate that word!) diets, the omission of salt presented a different challenge. I worked with all our favorite recipes, through much trial and error. Substituting salt-free ingredients was only the first step in creating delicious low salt recipes.

Low sodium meals, however presented a new challenge. When you want to improve blood pressure using natural methods, most authorities agree that eating a low sodium diet is the smartest strategy.

Avoiding the salt shaker now will provide big health payoffs later. Multiple studies reveal that people who have reduced their sodium intake have lower blood pressure and are less likely to have a heart attack, stroke or other complications of cardiovascular disease.
