Low Salt Condiments

Good low salt condiments are easily obtained ... right from your own kitchen.

Yes, you can purchase these low sodium spreads from specialty shops, but they are so quick to make up, and easy to keep in your refrigerator, why buy ready made?

When every milligram counts, fresh is always best. We have included the three most request spreads here, low sodium mayonnaise, catchup and horseradish. More to come soon.

When preparing the low sodium catchup, remember that you can substitute canned (no salt added) tomatoes for fresh tomatoes. Just read your labels, and you will be sodium free.

To liven up the low salt mayonnaise, try adding roasted garlic, herbs such as basil or oregano, and even sun dried tomatoes add a sparkle to the spread. Whole eggs can be used, but remember that you are adding a little salt with each yolk.
