Chop and crush the tomatoes, reserve. |

Chop the onion finely, and saute in the olive oil over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add the garlic, and cook one more minute. Add the tomatoes and cook about 30 minutes. |

Meanwhile, cook the macaroni in boiling water for 8 minutes, drain and reserve. |

Grate the cheese and reserve. |
| 5 |
Plate the pasta and ladle the sauce over each serving. Top each plate with a portion of the grated cheese. |
