Fun Noodle Stuffing
Noodles Stuffing | Noodle Stuffing | | | | | | 2 lbs | | noodles | | | 1/2 cup | | butter | | | 1 | | onion, finely chopped | | | 1 lb | | mushrooms, sliced | | | 3 | | celery ribs | | | 1 cup | | chicken broth | | | | salt and pepper to taste | | | | | | | 1 | Cook the noodles in two pots with plenty of water, about four minutes if thin or homemade, about 10 minutes if using packaged noodles. | | 2 | Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large skillet. Add the onion and mushrooms. Cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. | | 3 | Drain the noodles and combine with the cooked vegetables in a large mixing bowl, | | 4 | Cut the celery into a fine dice and add it to the noodle mixture. Add the broth. Salt and pepper to taste. | | 5 | Cool to room temperature before stuffing a turkey. | | This may also be served as a side dish as follows: | | 1 | Put the noodle mixture into a casserole, add one more cup of broth and 1/2 cup of cream. | | 2 | Dot with butter and bake in a preheated oven (375*) for 20 minutes.
