Glazed, Roasted Pear Dessert Recipes


Roasted Pear Dessert Recipes with Pomegranate Sauce

 Roasted Bosc Pears with Pomegranate Sauce
 
 
3/4 cup    dry red wine  
3/4 cup    pomegranate juice  
1/2 cup    sugar  
1/2 tsp    cinnamon  
2 tsp    orange zest  
6   bosc pears  
 
1 Preheat the oven to 350*
2 Peel the pears and set aside.
3 In a medium saucepan, combine the wine, juice, sugar, cinnamon and zest. Cook over medium heat for approximately 3 minutes, until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat.
4 Using a small melon baller, core the pears from the bottom wide end. Trim the bottoms flat, and stand them upright in a 8" square baking pan. Pour the wine-juice mixture over the pears.
5 Roast the pears for one hour, basting with the juice from the pan every 20 minutes.
6 Using a spatula, transfer the pears to a serving platter.
7 Pour the baking juices back into the saucepan and cook over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, until the sauce is reduced to 2/3 cup. Spoon this glaze over the pears.
