Salt Free Pita Bread
Salt Free Pita Bread | Salt-Free Pita Bread | | | | | | 1 1/2 Tbs | | dry yeast | | | 3 1/4 cups | | bread flour | | | 1 Tbs | | olive oil | | | 1 1/4 cups | | water | | | | | | | 1 | Place all ingredients in your bread machine and set it to run on the dough cycle. | | 2 | When the dough is ready, Place it in a large bowl that has been sprayed with non-stick spray, cover and let rise until doubled, 1-1/2 hours. | | 3 | On a well floured surface, knead the dough a few times. Roll it into a long roll about 12" in length. Cut it into 12 pieces, then roll each one into a tight ball. | | 4 | Place each one back on the floured surface, and let them rest for 10 minutes, covered with a clean towel. | | 5 | Preheat your oven to 500* | | 6 | With a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a 6" disk. Sprinkle cookie sheet with some cornmeal and place the disks on the baking sheet. Do not let them touch, if necessary use a second baking sheet. Let them rest, covered with a clean towel, for 20-30 minutes. | | 7 | Bake them for 2-5 minutes, until lightly browned and ballooned up. Cool on wire racks.
