Snickerdoodles Cookies



Snickerdoodles

 Snickerdoodles
 
 
1 cup    butter  
2 cups    sugar  
2   eggs  
1 tsp    vanilla  
1/4 cup    milk  
3 3/4 cups    flour  
1 tsp    baking soda  
1 tsp    cream of tartar  
1/2 tsp    salt  
2 tsp    nutmeg  
3 Tbs    sugar  
 
1 Preheat oven to 375*.
2 In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and the 2 cups sugar until light and fluffy.
3 Add the eggs, one at a time and beat until well mixed.
4 Add the milk and vanilla. Mix well.
5 In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar. Gradually mix this into the batter.
6 Form the dough into 1" balls and place on a cookie sheet spayed with non-stick spray or lined with parchment paper.
7 In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and the 3 TB sugar. With a moistened glass bottom, dip the glass into the sugar cinnamon and press each cookie slightly with the sugared bottom. Dip in sugar between each pressing.
8 Bake for 12 minutes, until the tops are lightly browned.
9 Remove from oven and let cool completely.
