Swiss Chard Quiche | Swiss Chard Quiche | | | | | | A unique twist on the standard quiche. | | | | 1 recipe | | baked pie shell | | | 2 lbs | | swiss chard | | | 1/4 cup | | chopped raisins or dried figs | | | 1/2 cup | | pistachio nuts or walnuts | | | 1/4 cup | | grated parmesan cheese | | | 1/2 cup | | grated swiss cheese | | | 4 | | eggs | | | 2/3 cup | | half and half cream | | | 1/4 tsp | | nutmeg | | | | | | | 1 | Rinse the chard well and chop roughly with a knife. Chop the nuts and reserve. | | 2 | In a large skillet sprayed with non-stick spray, sauté the chard until well wilted. Remove from heat and let cool | | 3 | Preheat your oven to 375* | | 4 | Mix the eggs with the cream until well blended. Add the nutmeg and 1/4 cup of the swiss cheese, and the cooled chard. Mix well. | | 5 | Into the bottom the cooled and baked pie crust, add 1/4 cup of the swiss cheese. Top with the nuts and dried fruit.
