Swiss Chard Quiche is Delicious!

Swiss Chard Quiche

Swiss Chard Quiche
A unique twist on the standard quiche.
1 recipe baked pie shell
2 lbs swiss chard
1/4 cup chopped raisins or dried figs
1/2 cup pistachio nuts or walnuts
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup grated swiss cheese
4 eggs
2/3 cup half and half cream
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 Rinse the chard well and chop roughly with a knife. Chop the nuts and reserve.
2 In a large skillet sprayed with non-stick spray, sauté the chard until well wilted. Remove from heat and let cool
3 Preheat your oven to 375*
4 Mix the eggs with the cream until well blended. Add the nutmeg and 1/4 cup of the swiss cheese, and the cooled chard. Mix well.
5 Into the bottom the cooled and baked pie crust, add 1/4 cup of the swiss cheese. Top with the nuts and dried fruit. Top with the cream mixture and then with the parmesan cheese.
6 Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until lit has risen well and is evenly browned all over.
7 Serve.
